Registering OCX Files

If you receive an message like the one below, please follow the instructions below to manually register the file.

NOTE: If you do not own or use Employee Self-Service, User Portal, and other third party data connections, simply click Ok and ignore this "Self-Registration Error"

When installing CYMA FMS/NFP, the installation attempts to register the CymaX.ocx file (Active X control) which is used for Employee Self-Service, User Portal, and other third party data connections.

To register the file manually:

  1. Open Start Menu, Search for Cmd or (Command Prompt)
  2. Highlight Command Prompt and right click and run as Administrator
  3. Once open type in the following commands
    1. Step 1.) Cd\cyma\cyma4 (or cd\(cyma directory)) then press Enter Key
    2. Step 2.) Regsvr32 cymax.ocx then press the Enter Key

If registration is successful you should receive a message as shown below:

You can further verify if the cymax.ocx (ActiveX Control) has been registered by using RegEdit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\. Highlight it and press Ctrl+F then search for cymax.ocx.
