What Does Error 740 Mean?
If you are experiencing an error 740 message in Windows Vista or Windows 7 when trying to launch or install a CYMA application, it means the software being installed (or has been configured) must be accessed by someone with administrator privileges ("Run as Administrator"). Here is an example of Error 740:
"Error(740): The requested operation requires elevation."
How To Prevent Error 740 Messages
Windows Vista and Windows 7 use of security measure setting called User Account Control. With different levels of permissions, it can cause problems when trying to run software applications as a "user" instead of an "administrator". Specific actions by a "user" will cause User Account Control to display a dialog message which will allow you to elevate your Windows permissions level to administrator. Any software application running with normal user permissions will not allow User Account Control this option.
Error 740 Solutions
There are two solutions to work around this issue.
This process is for Windows Vista as a checkbox whereas there is a scroll bar in Windows 7. In both operating systems there is a system reboot required for the effect to take place and allow the installation to proceed.
